Katie Jergens » Biography

Biography

Katie Jergens comes to Trinity Hall with a long background in software engineering and user experience design, having worked at both emerging startups and established giants. Her journey includes roles as a co-op student at NASA's Launch Control Center and as a user experience design lead at NewsCorp's Amplify division. In 2014, Katie pivoted to the world of education as the first full-time woman computer science faculty member at the The Dalton School in New York. She also taught at Girls Who Code and was founding faculty at coding camps NextGen Coding and CodeSpeaksLabs.
 
At the heart of Katie's educational philosophy is the belief that students begin their learning journey by celebrating shared knowledge. From this foundation, they can branch out, building on their unique insights and creating their own individual knowledge and skill sets. Katie is a proud alumnus of Villanova University where she studied computer science. At Trinity Hall Katie teaches robotics, engineering and AP Computer Science and will be involved in all things coding. Katie most recently lived in Puerto Rico and will be popping into Spanish classes in any free time.
