Biography

Rob Nasatir, or “Profe” as he prefers to be called, has over 20 years experience teaching on the university and secondary levels. Originally from Chicago, he moved to New Jersey seven years ago after living in Nashville for 22 years. This year he will teach Spanish 3, Spanish 4 and Spanish 5.

 

Rob earned his doctorate in Spanish and a Master's degree in comparative literature from Vanderbilt University, and his Bachelor's degree in English from Belmont University. Since his first trip to Cuba in 2001, he has been a frequent visitor to the island, researching and publishing articles and books on Cuban music and culture. His most recent publications include the book Trovadores Cubanos and translations of The First Stone by Ariel Díaz and Universal Songs by Gerardo Alfonso.
