New Mural in the Commons Depicts Trinity Hall Core Values | Monarch Media

Over the course of the recent months, the Art Club and Arts Council have been hard at work transforming the temporary construction wall in the Commons. What used to be a blank, white wall is now filled with a beautiful hand-painted mural. Revealed at a Community Meeting, the mural is a depiction of the student journey at Trinity Hall.

Art Club leaders Gianna Di Lascia ‘25 and Celia Ekhelar ‘26 took the lead on bringing this mural to life. The concept behind the mural revolves around the four core values of Trinity Hall: leadership, respect, perseverance, and faith. These values are clearly depicted throughout the multiple panels of the painting, with a road winding through them. This road is symbolic of a student’s path throughout their four years at Trinity Hall.

With the guidance of Mrs. Straine, art and design teacher, the Art Club put in hours of work, designing, painting and perfecting the artwork. They were meticulous in not only thinking of the details that spoke to the Trinity Hall experience but also in the finesse of their art skills.

Di Lascia ‘25 explained the design process and execution of the mural. After explaining the brainstorming process that happened during their Art Club meeting, she added, “I refined our initial rough sketch into a digital plan with 12 panels, three for each core value. Each panel represents a different aspect of Trinity Hall that ties into the values, such as sports and academics for perseverance or public speaking for leadership. After getting approval for our idea, members of the club and council started the execution by priming the wall in the commons, laying down background colors, and sketching the design. Over the next few weeks, we continued to paint and add detail until every panel was complete”

Some of the elements that describe the journey of a Trinity Hall student that are depicted in the mural are the different polo shirt colors for each grade level, flags to represent Cultural Day and the different backgrounds that make up the students, the Trinity prayer, a soccer ball, and to end, the school building with two graduates in front of it.

It is evident that both the Arts Council and Art Club put a great deal of time and effort into creating this piece. Di Lascia stated, “I am so proud of all the time and talent these girls put into the completion of this project!”

The Art Club and Art Council, through their incredible creativity, tied the community together through collaboration and the illustration of shared experiences. The mural is currently up for display for the community to appreciate. When construction of the new additions to the school building are complete, the mural will be incorporated into the new building, continuing to remind the community of what it means to be a Trinity Hall student.
