The Arts Council started the year on a fantastic note with their annual Paint and Snack. On October 14, students and faculty gathered in the Commons and enjoyed snacks provided by the Arts Council while they painted Halloween candy buckets with creative fall designs.
Arts Council Chair Izzy Garrison ‘26 shared some aspects about the planning of the event and its overall success. She stated, “It was really fun in our council meetings to decide what we would be painting. We went with the idea of candy collecting buckets to keep with our Halloween theme. For this first event of the year, we had a great time in the new space, with delicious snacks provided by the Arts Council and an awesome turnout! It was really amazing to see how the Paint and Snack has evolved and grown since my freshman year, and I cannot wait for what's to come.”
The Arts Council put a lot of time into planning, from organizing the theme and collecting materials to promoting the event itself. The dedication and passion put into creating the activity was the key to its success. For the first time, the Paint and Snack was held in the Commons due to an increase in sign-ups of both new and old faces. Trinity Hall Paint and Snacks are known as a great way to bring the community together for a fun and creative event. With busy schedules and academic rigor, this break in the week is a beneficial bonding event that has consistently been a major success.
Kherri Kinkela ‘27, who attended the event, also spoke about her experience. She stated, “I always have the best time at the Paint and Snacks! It’s nice to take some time to de-stress with painting, and even though I am not super artistic, I painted a gingham design with bows on my candy bucket and cannot wait to use it for Halloween.”
This year’s fall Paint and Snack was a great way to start off the season, bringing some Halloween spirit to the community. This creative outlet serves as a reminder of the importance of taking a break from academics and spending time with classmates. The fall Paint and Snack has set the tone for what is sure to be a lively season ahead as the Arts Council continues to plan more events for the Trinity Hall community!
