This year, Trinity Hall welcomed Isabella Giallanza, Bryce Krampert, Hannah McCarthy and Cecilia Peters back to campus as faculty and staff members. All graduates of the Class of 2021, the alumnae bring with them not only their knowledge and experience from college but also a deeper connection to Trinity Hall.
Isabella Giallanza was an active participant in the community during her time at Trinity Hall. She was a member of the coding team, Model UN, a writer for the school newspaper, a varsity track athlete and the founder of the Cultural Club. After her time at Trinity Hall, Giallanza went on to attend the University of Michigan where she originally studied naval and aerospace engineering, before switching her major to data science. This change was based on her love for coding and statistics. These interests first sprouted in the classrooms of Trinity Hall, specifically in her engineering and statistics courses. Giallanza credits Trinity Hall for helping her find her passion, and because of that, she made the decision to come back to Trinity Hall as an Engineering I teacher. When asked her biggest piece of advice for Trinity Hall students, Giallanza discussed college applications, stating, “Don’t think too much about it,” when applying for college as, “It’s really not that deep.”
Bryce Krampert returned to Trinity Hall this fall as an engineering teacher, bringing with her a fresh perspective and a deep understanding of the Trinity Hall experience. After graduating high school, Krampert attended the University of Mississippi, where she majored in engineering with an emphasis in manufacturing. Krampert’s time in college provided her with hands-on experience into the real-world applications of engineering, particularly through design projects and time spent in manufacturing plants. After finishing college, Krampert made the decision to return to Trinity Hall because of its supportive community and encouragement of curiosity. Krampert shared, “My goal for this year is to become the type of teacher and mentor for my students that I was lucky enough to have.” Two teachers who especially influenced her were Dr. McCaffery and Mrs. Lambrou, who taught her engineering classes and encouraged her to pursue the field as her career. Now, working alongside them, she is grateful for their mentorship. Her advice to current students is to “choose something that excites you. The best opportunities often come from following what genuinely interests you.”
Another graduate of the Class of 2021, Hannah McCarthy returned to Trinity Hall this year as an engineering teacher. During her time in high school, McCarthy played on the varsity field hockey team, which was still a club at the time, and on the varsity softball team. She was also the lead costume designer on the Crowning Crew. McCarthy attended college at Purdue University, where she studied mechanical engineering, an interest that stemmed from Trinity Hall classes. After graduation and talking to Jennifer Havens, assistant head for teaching and learning, McCarthy decided to return to Trinity Hall as an Engineering II teacher. When asked how being an alumna shapes her teaching style at Trinity Hall, she stated that it “helps me show compassion where needed.” McCarthy is able to connect first-hand to the workload of a Trinity Hall student-athlete, and she understands the rigor of the school. Even though some aspects of Trinity Hall have changed, such as the new building, McCarthy stated that, “At its core, it does seem very familiar.”
Cecilia Peters, Trinity Hall’s newest admissions assistant, is the only alumna to return to Trinity Hall as a staff member this year. After Trinity Hall, Peters attended the University of Maryland, where she majored in criminology and criminal justice and discovered a love for investigation and analysis. Peters’ time in college solidified her goal of working for the FBI or CIA, a dream that she first developed during her senior year at Trinity Hall. Peters’ favorite classes in high school, AP Psychology with Mrs. Advento and U.S. Government with Mrs. Havens helped spark her interest in criminal justice. Peters is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in criminal justice with a focus on intelligence analysis at Monmouth University. This year, Peters is bringing her passion for criminal justice and her expertise from her collegiate career to Trinity Hall as an faculty advisor of the Criminology Club. When the opportunity came to work at Trinity Hall, she felt drawn back to the community that helped shape her. “I knew I wanted to return to the place that played such a meaningful role in making me the woman I am today,” she said. Peters encourages students to “follow your heart” when choosing a college and advises them not to let others’ opinions cloud their decisions.
The return of Isabella Giallanza, Bryce Krampert, Hannah McCarthy and Cecilia Peters to Trinity Hall shows the lasting impact the school has on its students. Each teacher carries a unique story of growth, discovery and inspiration, rooted in the same hallways they now walk as educators and professionals. Their presence reminds current students that their dreams are within reach and that the support they receive today can shape their futures.
