Priscilla Loomis Returns to Trinity Hall to Inspire Student-Athletes | Monarch Media

Priscilla Loomis has returned again to speak to the Trinity Hall community. On December 15, Loomis joined Trinity Hall student-athletes, parents and staff to share inspiring lessons that are vital for the success of the young women in Trinity Hall. Students undoubtedly remembered her passionate words from her speech during the Women in Leadership series from the previous school year. This year’s visit from Priscilla Loomis was highly anticipated, as the session was postponed due to severe weather conditions earlier in November.

Adding on to her visit from last year, where she focused on self-confidence, Loomis tailored her words to the audience before her, which held numerous student-athletes. By using her prior experience as an Olympian in track and field, she not only instilled confidence in the young women in the room but also provided them with important information regarding taking care of themselves. Loomis shared tips for proper fueling before athletic events, which sets up an athlete for success in competition. She also explained that as young women, it is not necessary to stick to a rigid diet, simply eating nutritious foods was something Loomis emphasized in her speech.

Loomis focused not only on nutrition for athletes, but she also shared wise, and necessary, words regarding athlete mental health. The field of female sports can be extremely mentally degrading, but Loomis opened up to the Trinity Hall community about her personal experience, showing girls that their struggles are seen. By taking what she had told the community in the previous school year and applying it specifically to athletics, she provided her audience with truly inspiring advice that will undoubtedly take listeners far.

Athletics Council Chair Steele Summers ‘26, who spearheaded the event, said, “It was an amazing opportunity to hear from such an accomplished athlete and women who could give us advice to become not only better athletes but better people overall.”

The Trinity Hall community was evidently grateful for Loomis’ return, and the student-athletes are excited to put Loomis’ advice into practice.
