Trinity Hall Launches First-Ever Summer Programs for Middle School Girls

Trinity Hall is proud to introduce its first annual summer programs, a series of week-long workshops designed to spark curiosity and confidence in middle school girls.

Open to girls in grades 6 through 8, the new programs offer hands-on experiences across a variety of fields including robotics, game design, architecture, theater and the humanities. Each program emphasizes collaboration, creativity and problem-solving while giving students the chance to explore new interests in a supportive all-girls environment.

Build Your Robo-BFF
is a robotics and electronics program for students in grades 7 and 8. In this hands-on robotics workshop, students will design and build their own robotic companion while exploring the fundamentals of engineering and electronics. Participants will develop technical skills as they experiment with circuits, sensors and simple programming to bring their creations to life. Through the design thinking process, students will brainstorm, build, test and refine their robots while strengthening their problem-solving skills. Students will also share their inventions with the group, building confidence in communication and public speaking. This program will run the week of July 13 (Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.).

Beyond Boardgames is a game design program for girls in 6th and 7th grade interested in creativity and strategy. Students will step into the role of game designers as they imagine, create and test their own original video, digital and board games. Through hands-on learning, students will explore strategy, storytelling and design while developing creative problem-solving skills. Participants will move through the full creative process, from brainstorming concepts and designing game mechanics to building prototypes using 3D printing and laser cutting, and play-testing with peers. By the end of the week, students will present their finished games and explain the thinking behind their designs. This program will run the week of July 13 (Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.).

Design Your Own Model Treehouse is open to future architects and engineers in 6th, 7th and 8th grade. In this hands-on architecture and engineering program, students will design and build their own imaginative model treehouse while learning the fundamentals of structure, planning and design. Students will use the design thinking process to sketch ideas, build models using 3D modelling tools, 3D printing and laser cutting while refining their designs as they consider creativity, function and problem solving. Along the way, students will strengthen their technical and collaborative skills and present their final designs to the group. This program will run the week of July 20 (Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.).

Shakespeare program: All the World’s a Stage allows girls in 6th, 7th and 8th grade to explore classic literature in an engaging way. Students will step into the world of Shakespeare through creativity, performance and storytelling. Students will explore memorable characters and dramatic moments from classic plays while participating in engaging discussions, creative writing and collaborative activities inspired by Shakespeare’s work. Through acting, interpretation and imagination, students will build confidence as readers, writers and public speakers. The week concludes with students sharing their work through informal readings or short performances. No prior Shakespeare experience is needed, just curiosity, creativity and a willingness to step onto the (literary) stage! This program will run the week of July 20 (Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.).

Theatre Camp is perfect for girls in grades 6 through 8 who love performing and storytelling. This lively theatre program invites students to explore the world of performance through acting exercises, improvisation and scene work. Students will engage in the creative process as they develop characters, collaborate with peers and bring stories to life on stage. Through hands-on activities and rehearsal, students will strengthen their creativity, confidence and communication skills. The program will conclude with a short performance where students can showcase their work and practice public speaking in a supportive environment. This program will run the week of July 27 (Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.).

With small program sizes and engaging instructors, Trinity Hall’s new summer programs are designed to provide an enriching experience where middle school girls can explore new passions and develop applicable skills over the summer.

The girls who participate in this year’s program will be innovators as the first-ever team of students to attend Trinity Hall’s summer programs. Families can select the program that best suits their student and secure a spot for a summer of learning by registering here.
