Student Visionaries Lead Major Fundraising Success | Monarch Media

Blood Cancer United is the world’s largest voluntary nonprofit organization, dedicated to curing blood cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Since 1949, the organization has been funding research, providing care to patient support services, and advocating for affordable, quality care. Blood Cancer United Student Visionaries of the Year is a seven-week-long philanthropic leadership program that took place from January 28 to March 2, where high school students raised awareness and funds for patient support and research.

This year, Trinity Hall juniors and sophomores made up two Blood Cancer United teams: Teens Tackling Cancer, led by Cate Donnelly '27, Abbey Chanod '27 and Lexie Cusson '28, and Monarchs Make a Difference, led by Ava Faustini '27, Emory Herbruck '27, and Olivia Desmini '27. Both teams worked tirelessly for the seven-week campaign, and the Trinity Hall community could not be more proud of their dedication and success.

Monarchs Make a Difference had a particularly successful campaign. In total, the group raised $103,000 for Blood Cancer United through corporate sponsors and charity buzz items. Faustini shared that the team faced some challenges, primarily because participants included students outside of Trinity Hall. This made it difficult for the group to organize meeting times, so they relied on Zoom calls and group chats to relay information and important details.

The Teens Tackling Cancer team also found success in their campaign. In total, the group raised $923,116 for Blood Cancer United and came in second place for the 2026 South Jersey Student Visionaries of the Year. In order to achieve this success, the group hosted a number of events to raise money for the campaign. The fundraising events gave participants the opportunity to work with local businesses and organizations such as Mossutos, Bungalow Road, Pyour Core, Chipotle and Panera. Additionally, the group held a raffle with Spring Lake Home Decor.

The Trinity Hall community is proud of this year's student visionaries. Their hard work and dedication paid off, and we cannot wait to see what the girls will do with Blood Cancer United next year!
