Monarchs on the RUN! Celebrate America 250 is officially in the books! Over this past spring break, members of the Trinity Hall community took part in the annual virtual race and walking challenge. After signing up, participants chose a time over spring break to complete a 5K, 10K, or both in the Monarch Challenge with the chance to win prizes after submitting their times.
If running didn’t appeal to registrants, there were numerous other opportunities to get involved. For walkers, Mary’s Walking Challenge was a great way to stay engaged in the event. Starting on March 28, the first day of spring break, walkers tracked and accumulated their mileage until April 13. Those who walked the most miles were recognized with prizes. Participants could even include a pet (they received prizes, too!). Additionally, younger members of the Trinity Hall Community, “Mini Monarchs” were eligible for raffles after they completed their run or walk. Every member of the community was considered, and there was a way for all to participate in the event, which was promoted schoolwide.
Not only is Monarchs on the RUN! a commemorative and memorable event put on by the Development Office, but it also went toward an exceptional cause. All funds raised went towards Mary’s Fund for the Girls: Now and Forever. The fund, named after Trinity Hall’s first head of school, Mary Sciarrillo, supports financial aid and the endowment at Trinity Hall, helping to make a Trinity Hall education accessible to girls of all income levels. Maggie Hayser ‘27, a leader of the Developmental Delegates club at Trinity Hall, commented on the importance of the fund, “Mary’s Fund for the Girls is just as important as any of our other fundraising opportunities. It’s truly amazing that the fund provides a way for all students, no matter their circumstances, to be able to come and receive this amazing education and to be a part of a great community.”
It may just seem like a way to remain active over the generous two-week break at Trinity Hall, but Monarchs on the RUN! has proven to be much more than that. By rallying community members together to contribute to a great cause, Monarch pride can truly never be denied. And if you couldn’t run this year, not to worry, there’s always next year!
